Pupils in year’s 8, 9 and 10 from Lampton School have graduated from the Brilliant Club, several with first class classifications! These pupils have been working with a PhD tutor over 3 months in order to complete a project on a diverse range of subjects such as wondering “if stars can float in the bath”, political decision making or considering a “hero’s journey”. Anuj Sharma in year 8 said “the challenge made it fun as it tested our knowledge; it’s not something you do every day”. The standard of the projects produced by Lampton’s pupils was exceptional, with many students working at an A grade at GCSE despite only being in year 8. Pupils initially took part in a launch trips at Oxford and Cambridge Universities and graduated in a formal ceremony at Royal Holloway and the University of Sussex.
Dhua Ehsan, in year 8, said of the experience with the Brilliant Club “It was awesome! I learnt so much about university”. Ida Rana, also in year 8, agreed saying “It made the idea of going to university real and I can really see the advantages it would bring to me now”.
