For World Book Day, 2012, the Library organized its annual school wide, “ Stop the Clock activity”. On Thursday,March 1st from 11-11:30, everyone in the school including students and staff were asked to stop what they were doing and read a book for 30 minutes. A camera crew of students went around to all the school buildings and took some great pictures of Lampton readers.
Lampton School is concentrating on literacy this year and “Stop the Clock” forms a part of our whole school strategy for developing students’ academic literacy. The library was proud to organize this event again this year and happy to report that 257 books were issued on the day.
It was great to see every subject area join in and support the importance of taking time out to read.
