It offers our talented athletes 2 timetabled periods a week of basketball combined with one to one and small group mentoring with an academic focus. The small group mentoring will be used to develop positive life skills and improve behaviour and attitude.
We are monitoring each student athlete to ensure there is the correct balance between school work and basketball. Knock on effects include, improving the pupils focus on lifestyle choices such as diet, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, making the right choices and providing guidance on different training methods e.g. weight training, core stability and SAQ training.
We are also providing opportunities to achieve England Basketball Level 1 qualifications in coaching, refereeing and table officiating as well as gaining that experience throughout the year.
