We are currently consulting on our arrangements from 7th December until Jan 31st and any comments should be sent to Dee Cresswell, email@example.com
The process of transferring between primary and secondary school begins in the Autumn Term preceding the year of transition. To help facilitate this process, parents and carers should use the Primary Transfer book and application form issued by their child.
Information on submitting an appeal is available on the following link:
Please note that you cannot appeal for a place at a school for which no application was made.
Open evenings and mornings
If you are applying for a place for your child, you are expected to attend either our Open Evening or one of our Open Mornings.
We hold an Open Evening each Autumn Term when parents, carers and children visit our site and receive a copy of our prospectus. This event includes an introduction from our headteacher, a tour of our facilities and a chance to speak to our staff.
We also run Open Mornings where parents, carers and their children meet our senior staff and have a tour of the school in session.
Offered a place
When offered a place, you and your child will be invited to an interview with a member of staff to hear more about Lampton and to discuss how we can work together to ensure the best possible education for your child. These interviews are held in the week before the May half-term. You will be sent an appointment time by letter.
For students joining us in September 2013, the dates of these interviews are:
Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd May 2013 between 4.00 – 6.30pm
NB. School uniform is available for purchase on these evenings.
Primary Transfer Day
We also hold an annual Primary Transfer day on the first Tuesday of July, when your child meets his/her new form tutor and fellow classmates, and has a chance to experience secondary school life. Parents and carers are invited to attend a meeting with the Head of Year, Headteacher and the Chair of Governors in the evening.
Our 2013 Primary Transfer date will be known shortly.
Primary school visits
In the Summer Term your child’s Head of Year will visit them in their primary school and meet their class teacher. We work with their primary school to make sure that we place your child in an appropriate, mixed ability tutor group. This helps ensure that they settle well into Year 7.Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) are also visited by a member of our Supportive Education Department. Students who need most support are visited by a member of the Learning Mentor team as well.
