Lampton School - Week 20
Posted on Feb 6th 2023Monday 6th February
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome to our newsletter for the sixth week of the Spring Term 2023. It’s Week B, so year assemblies are taking place. Our character theme for the next fortnight is ‘trust’.
As we approach the half-term break, our thoughts are turning to the launch of our new catering provision by Cucina which begins operation for students on Tuesday 21st February. Sample menus are on Google classroom and this Thursday all students will need to have their ID cards registered with the new cashless system provider. It is vital that every student has an ID card - replacements can be issued via Student Services prior to Thursday.
Also, on Thursday it’s progress evening online for Y13 and Y11 are gearing up for their next round of PPEs in early March. I can confirm that these will not be affected by the planned industrial action on 2nd March.
I wish you all a relaxing half-term break. A reminder that wellbeing resources and mental health support is available via our student wellbeing board. Staff will not be responding to emails or Google classroom messages during the week off.
Monday 20th February is an INSET day, so the school will be closed for students. We look forward to welcoming all students back for registration at 8.40am on Tuesday 21st February. Our term dates for 2023-24 are available below - INSET days will be added shortly.
With best wishes for the week ahead and a good half-term break.

Safeguarding Bulletin: Children Mental’s Health Week
This week is children’s mental health week. In recent assemblies we have encouraged students to reflect on the importance of taking proactive steps for strengthening their own mental health. The following resources have been shared with students, to help give a more thorough understanding of what they can do.
Kooth: an online mental health community
Anna Freud Centre: an excellent resource for to make informed choices on their mental health and wellbeing
Childline: for students needing support with difficult situations
We also have a selection of books available in our mental health and wellbeing section of the school library, and recommend that if students are struggling with their mental health, they can either self-refer, or parents can refer to Safeguarding staff for further support via email safeguarding@lampton.org.uk. Kooth has also produced an excellent guide for parents and carers.
Coming Soon - Breakfast in the Lampton School Dining Hall
Two weeks to go now until Cucina’s new catering provision launches at Lampton! This Thursday we will register your child’s student ID card so that it is ready for the new till system. If your child needs a new ID card in time for Thursday’s registration process, they can ask at Student Services. There will be chances to register after the half term break too.
One of the many exciting features of the new catering provision is the launch of a breakfast service. Students will be able to come to the Dining Hall before their day begins and buy toast, pastries, cereal or even pancakes! Porridge will be provided free of charge to all students to promote a healthy eating routine.
