Lampton School Newsletter: Week 8 2024-25
Posted on Oct 21st 2024Monday 21st October 2024
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome to our newsletter for the eighth week of the Autumn Term 2024.
It’s Week B so our year assemblies are taking place and will be focusing on the celebration of Diwali.
Today marks the start of the Pre-Public examinations (PPEs) for Y11. These are crucial examinations which will support students in their preparation for the final examinations next summer. Feedback will be given to parents/carers at the Y11 Parents’ Evening on Thursday 12th December starting at 4pm. We look forward to seeing all Y11 students and their parents/carers at this important event.
In tutor periods this week students will be discussing their attendance with their form tutors. It is imperative that students make every effort possible to achieve our minimum expectation of 96% attendance at school. A reminder that arriving at school after 9:10am means that your child will receive a ‘U’ code in the register, meaning that they will be classed as absent for the whole morning session. It is therefore vital that your child arrives punctually for Registration at 8:40am. My thanks to the majority of students who have achieved excellent attendance and punctuality this half-term.
School closes at 3:10pm on Friday 25th October for the half-term break. School starts again for all year groups at 8:40am on Monday 4th November and it will be Week A.
With best wishes for the week ahead and a restful half-term break.

Making Hounslow Safer for Our Children
Feltham's Youth Activists are a group of inspirational and passionate young people dedicated to raising the next generation of leaders within the local community. They want to see a change in Hounslow for the younger generations: they want Hounslow to be a safer, happier, more comfortable and a protective place for young people. They have created a survey as they would like to listen to your thoughts on how to make that happen. This survey is for parents to complete to provide feedback as to how local groups can make Hounslow safer for children. Please click on the link below to complete the survey
Please take a few minutes to complete this survey to help Feltham's Youth Activists have a better understanding of your views and thoughts.
Parental Controls to support your child using their phone
These links provide advice on how you can support your child to use their phones responsibly. They give advice on how to set controls and what apps can be negative:
Please support your child at home by setting controls over the time they spend on the phone. Research shows that they should spend no longer than 2 hours a day on their phones. We know technology is very useful and important for their education but it is really important we limit screen time and support them to focus on independent learning at home.
