Lampton School - Week 33
Posted on Jun 3rd 2024
Monday 3rd June 2024
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome to our newsletter for the seventh week of the Summer Term 2024 and the first week of our new academic year 2024-25. All students have been promoted in their year groups and the new timetable is in operation. A reminder, that students in the new Year 10 (Ms Ali’s year group) now need to be wearing a black KS4 tie - please ensure that your child complies with this expectation as soon as possible.
It’s Week A and our whole school assemblies are being led by Dr Isham and Ms Kapila on the theme of how we learn - from a neurological perspective and from the perspective of our Lampton character traits and school routines so that learning can be maximised at all times. As we begin the new school year, there’s no better time to commit to a fresh start.
Later this term our programme of trips, visits and enrichment begins in earnest. All of these opportunities are there to support the wider personal development of students. The end of this will be marked by our whole school sponsored walk around Osterley Park on Wednesday 17th July - this will be in aid of the winning charity from our annual First Give competition. Watch this space for more information.
With best wishes for the start of this new academic year and the week ahead.

120 Bus route from the stop at the end of Lampton Avenue
The school has been in contact with Transport for London (TfL) regarding the frequency of the bus service on this route at the end of the school day. At times there can be a significant gap between buses - up to 40 minutes some days, meaning that the bus is full and students cannot board. TfL are reviewing the matter. The school would recommend that if your child is able to walk home rather than boarding a 120 bus in the direction of Hounslow Bus Garage, then this would be a much more sensible option for them at this time.
Life after Lampton
Our new Year 13 cohort will be involved in a range of activities on Thursday 6th June that encourage them to consider their options for life after Lampton! There will be guidance on the university application process, alternatives to university study and talks from apprenticeship providers and ex-students. We’re sure this will be a useful and inspiring day for everyone involved. Later this term we will be inviting parents/carers in to school to provide more information on post-18 options, as well as to celebrate the year group’s achievements this academic year.
