Lampton School Newsletter: Week 10 2024-25
Posted on Nov 11th 2024Monday 11th November 2024
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome to our newsletter for the tenth week of the Autumn Term 2024.
It’s Week B, so our year assemblies are taking place. In tutor period our attendance conversations will continue with students in order to focus on maximising full attendance and punctuality to school every day. A reminder that our target is 96% attendance for students in all year groups. If your child’s attendance falls below this level, they may be placed on an attendance contract in order to support them in improving their attendance figure. My thanks to the majority of students who attend school every day and on time - this really is the best way to maximise achievement!
Congratulations to colleagues in our English department who have once again been awarded the national Lit in Colour award run by Penguin publishers, Pearson and the Runnymede Trust. The award acknowledges Lampton’s pioneering role in delivering an inclusive curriculum that embraces all voices and perspectives.
We value the excellent communication which we have with families at Lampton. This page on the website gives a reminder about the principles of communication we have as a school community: https://www.lampton.org.uk/809/communicating-with-staff
It would be appreciated if you could read this information in order to strengthen our partnership to support your child/children further. Thank you for your support.
A reminder that the school will be closed for students in all year groups on Friday 29th November and Monday 2nd December for a long weekend break. School will resume on Tuesday 3rd December at the usual time of 8:40am - students to be on site for 8:30am.
With best wishes for the week ahead,
Stephen Davis
Headteacher
A message about road safety
As we all know, the clocks have gone back, and with the evenings becoming darker, it’s especially important to stay vigilant during journeys to and from school. We want to ensure that our pupils stay safe on the roads and are well-prepared for the limited daylight hours this season.
Please read this road safety message to help keep our pupils safe.
A message about Hounslow's domestic and sexual abuse team
Are you afraid at home? Are you worried about your children? Do you want to talk? Domestic abuse can affect anyone and can harm your physical and emotional wellbeing. The One Stop Shop provides free, confidential support and advice. Please click on this document if you want more information about Hounslow's One Stop Shop
Sugar Awareness Week
Please read this information from the Hounslow School Nurses team about managing children’s sugar intake.
