Lampton School Newsletter: Week 15 2024-25

Posted on Dec 16th 2024

Monday 16th December 2024

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Welcome to our newsletter for the fifteenth, and final, week of the Autumn Term 2024.

It’s our final Week A of this term, and I have been leading our whole school assemblies celebrating our success this term, showing gratitude and looking to the future.

Y10 PPE written papers started in the Sports Hall today and will last until the end of the week. Y12 begin their PPEs on Monday 6th January 2025.

A reminder that term ends on Friday 20th December at 12.30pm.

At the end of this long Autumn Term, my thanks to all members of our school community for their hard work and support. On behalf of myself, the Senior Leadership Team and Trust Board I wish you all a peaceful and relaxing break and best wishes for 2025.

The first day of the Spring Term 2025 is on Monday 6th January with school starting at the usual time of 8.40am.

New menu from Cucina for Spring 2025

Our catering partner, Cucina, will launch their new menu at the start of the Spring term. The menu is at the bottom of the Catering & Nutrition page of our school website. Please take a look at the new menu with your child and discuss which of the foods they are familiar with and which they might try for the first time. The menu features halal and non-halal meat options as well as various vegetarian and vegan choices too. The best value meal is the £2.50 hot meal deal, where students choose a hot meal with either a pudding or a drink. Also on offer are salads, wraps, pasta pots, panini, sandwiches and various hot and cold snacks. The Sixth Form Café serves an additional range for older students.

Important information for students receiving Free School Meals

Students in receipt of free school meals have historically had a £2.50 allowance credited to their account each day, which was deleted each afternoon if they did not use it. We have now arranged for the £2.50 credit to be added each day but only deleted once a week on a Friday afternoon. This means that if your child occasionally brings in food from home, or is absent from school, they can still use the allowance from that day to buy additional food on another day that week. Please contact Mrs S Dhadli via enquiries@lampton.org.uk if you have any questions about free school meals.

Talking Teens Parent Group

A four-week information and support course is being held at the school in March 2025 to help parents of teenagers to deal with the stresses and challenges of parenting. You can bring your partner or a friend, and you’ll learn useful strategies to create a happier, calmer family life. Read more here, and email prathod@lampton.org.uk to book your place.
