Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Welcome to our newsletter for the eighth week of the Spring Term 2025. It’s Week B, so year assemblies are taking place.

Today, Tuesday 4th March, we look forward to welcoming year 7 families for the year group celebration evening and on Thursday year 12 for parents’ evening. Please take time to read important information below about how you can support the forthcoming school musical of Shrek being held at the Hounslow Arts Centre. 

Other important dates are:

Thursday 27th March                                                     Y11 Parents’ Evening

Friday 4th April                                                               Term ends at 12.30pm  

Students in years 7, 8 and 9 will be sitting their formal examinations in the sports hall in English, mathematics and science during the week commencing 21st April when we return to school after the Easter break. More details of how students can prepare for these assessments will be shared via subject teachers and year assemblies.

Ramadan commenced on 1st March and many members of the school community will be observing this. A staffed prayer space is available in school, each day and grab bags are available in the canteen for those students in receipt of free school meals to be used when students break their fast later in the day. Ramadan Mubarak.

Shrek The Musical - 21st and 22nd March 2025

Lampton School’s Performing Arts department proudly announces its production for 2025 – Shrek The Musical! A large group of dedicated students have spent the last few months learning lines, practising dance routines, rehearsing songs, planning stage directions and sourcing props, ready to show you the proof of their hard work.

Bring your family and friends to watch our students perform at the Paul Robeson Theatre in Hounslow’s Arts Centre, on the first floor of the Treaty Centre. There are two shows, on Thursday 20^th and Friday 21^st March, and you can buy tickets here or using the QR code on the poster. Use the booking code LAMPSCH/FRIENDS25, and please only share this code with friends and family.

 

Social Media Research Opportunity

Katie Niven is conducting research with parents of adolescents who have experienced incidents of problematic social media. She is looking to interview parents / carers of teenagers who have had problematic use of social media. Please click here for more information about the research.

Holiday Vouchers

Please be aware that if you are in receipt of free school meals on Friday 7th March you will receive a link and information to enable you to sign your son/daughter up to holiday activities for free. Please click here for more information about how to book your child’s holiday activities

 

Children’s Mental Health

Last half term all students signed up to the online platform called Kooth. This supports children to have a greater understanding of their triggers, manage their emotions and ask for support and help. We have found that though talking about stressful situations, children are able to process what has happened and find solutions. Please do encourage these discussions at home and if necessary contact your child’s Head of Year know so we can support. Please contact safeguarding@lampton.org.uk if you have any concerns about your child’s safety and mental health.
